BlueSpine is working on the rehabilitation of a former industrial warehouse in Mannheim, Germany. The warehouse's foundation slab was severely affected by corrosion and is now undergoing impressed current cathodic protection treatment.

The structure:
The building is a former industrial warehouse belonging to the Elis company, located in Mannheim, Germany. The floor of the structure was heavily exposed to chlorides due to the activities carried out in the warehouse.
The mission:
Recommendation and design of cathodic protection | Manufacturing and supply of equipment | Project monitoring | Performance monitoring
The project stakeholders:
Client: Elis
Construction company: ITS Special Works
Our intervention:
BlueSpine was approached for a complete mission to implement an impressed current cathodic protection system on the structure of the former Elis industrial warehouse in Mannheim, Germany.
The structural diagnostic revealed severe chloride contamination due to activities carried out within the building. As the contamination was not linked to exposure to an aggressive external environment, the building did not qualify for the corresponding exposure class, and the chlorides reached the reinforcing steel.
Starting with the recommendation of the structural treatment system, BlueSpine determined the installation design. We then supplied all the equipment necessary for the system's implementation.
Q-Box developed by BlueSpine: control of the installation throughout the construction site, for complete site security.
BSCP-100 controller developed by BlueSpine:
Automated and remote monitoring of the installation,
Intelligent current regulation,
Generation of normative reports for long-term monitoring.
MMO titanium anodic system , guaranteeing efficient current diffusion and a durability of over 50 years.
Integrated sensors to measure corrosion potential, temperature, humidity in real time, and to evaluate protection performance.
